TIPS FOR YOUR
FIRST VISIT
-
A parent or legal guardian must be at the first visit*
-
We encourage you to stay positive for your first visit.
-
If there is a history of prior negative experience(s), please inform us so we can build a new foundation of trust.
-
Children can sense stress and anxiety, so try to relax yourself too!
-
It is important to avoid words such as hurt, drill, or shot so that your child will not fear their visit.
-
Children love imagination and creativity, and we love to use both to create a friendly experience.
-
If your child asks about the visit, reassure them they will do great! After all, why wouldn't they?
-
If you are unsure about something, please allow us to prepare your child. We use developmentally appropriate language based on senses rather than using scary terminology.

*Please note: A Notice To Provider or other form of acceptable legal documentation is required when appropriate to establish guardianship. In the State of Arizona, the age of majority is 18 years old for dental treatment. The rules for visits of children and adolescents are different for dental care than for medical care visits. A parent or legal guardian must remain on premise for the entire length of an appointment if a child is under 18 years old and not deemed legally emancipated. If you are unable or unwilling to abide by these rules and laws, then our office is not a good fit for your family. Thank you for cooperating with us in this manner.
